I.                    Introduction:

Why is it important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically? What areas do you need to develop to achieve the goals you have for yourself?
Integral health is idealistically important for wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually, and physically. As a wellness professional the wellness of others is an obvious concern and as Elliot Dacher states,”to transform health and life we must shift our gaze inward, where we will find the ever present source of exceptional health and healing.” Thus, through the discovery and acceptance of our own health we will be all the more armed to help clientele make their journey .To develop interpersonal health means to discover authentic compassion for ourselves before servicing those whom we are to work for.
Psychological Development
Mental fitness has far been overlooked as a passage to reach human flourishing. When arriving at the realization that psychological development will increase inner healing the result will be the transformation of ordinary health into precious health. (Dacher, 2009) The mind body connection allows for the wellness professional to see inside them and further release customary suffering that can only be changed with effort in psychological development. Inner development is an important step to becoming more understanding in healing the source of mind, body, and spiritual ailments. Whole healing starts in the mind and with practice develops into the next level of health.
Spiritual Development
A wellness professional must also develop spiritually, allowing focus to become more inwardly stabilized. The hustle and bustle routine may have gain of monetary or social value but can often be void of inner stillness and peace. Taking the time to cleanse the daily life through visualization practice and meditation will birth appreciation for genuine happiness and make it so much easier to achieve. Turning the focus inward takes time and effort but an untrained mind and heart can soon become forever gifted with health, happiness, and wholeness (Schlitz. Amorok, Micozzi).
Physical Development
The mind body and spirit are interconnected finalizing whole body health through physical development. A strong body supports a strong mind and spirit completing the unity journey. Through exercise and nutrition physical strengths lends a leg to support integral health. A healthy body completes the vessel of physicality that must represent inner health so that it can support the mind and any endeavors that may arise.
As a future health professional I feel I need to need to develop all three areas to achieve the goals I have for myself. Integral health has become a goal in itself and while understanding the concept the time and effort in practices must be repeated to carry throughout my life and adapt as normalcy. Allowing me to know my deepest self and slow down to assess my goals is the first step. Psychological, spiritual, and physical development is all part of the process that I will further engulf myself into help achieve the goals I have for myself. Uttermost happiness is achievable, if I so desire, now that I know the power of integral health and its healing capabilities.
  1. Assessment:
How have you assessed your health in each domain? How do you score your wellness spiritually, physically, and psychologically?
If I was a great teacher who was assessing my health in each domain I would also agree that I would be the perfect candidate for a life changing journey of interpersonal health and flourishing. In light of recent events, the realization that it is time to walk the walk instead of just talking is more than just a concept or a goal it is an actual desire. Being ready is one thing while actually committing to change must be maintained on a regular process for prominent results. True, there is no race to inner happiness but starting somewhere and eventually achieving a sense of oneness should be felt through practice techniques. Practicing psychological, spiritual, and physical development is all beneficially known but talking about knowing isn’t the same. Giving me the time to better each domain will continue my margin for growth. At this time in my life I score myself in a realization state for each domain. I realize that happiness from within is achievable. I have practiced throughout the course of this term but have only begun to grasp inner peace. Psychologically I know that I am the only one who is capable of making the changes to know why I am the way I am and the boundaries that intimidate me need to gather more focus for myself. Spiritually, loving kindness is easy for me but I want to reach a point where it is not a practice and comes naturally. I want to be reassured through my own commitments that I am a healthy individual who is well deserving of an interpersonal relationship that will boost my completeness. Physically, I know that when I have my regimen down and nourish my body properly I have all the tools to endure anything. For me, I am most focused when I give myself time. When I wake up before dawn and salute the sun while there are still stars in the sky I appreciate every aspect of life knowing that I am just one human being but I deserve to be happy and whole. On a numbered scoreboard I rank myself at a median range of 5 because in all domains I practice, thrive, and relapse with prior comfort levels. Breaking the cycle of daily life by make more time for myself will create the individual that will one day coach another to their capabilities.
  1. Goal development:
List at least one goal you have for yourself in each area, Physical, Psychological (mental health) and Spiritual.
Physical Goal
I love how I feel when I have accomplished the next phase of a physical routine. Feeling like I do not have time is a sorry excuse for accomplishing physical health. My goal for physical health is to start P90X program and complete it in 90 days. Adopting  a vegetarian diet that eventually turns into raw veganism is a strong goal I know will help to clear physical and mental fatigue and give me a sense of overall accomplishment free of food indulgence that are based on time constraints.
Psychological Goal
Grasping me psychologically has always been easy. I know why I do what I do but sometimes it is a hind sight event. Really practicing psychological strengthening is a strong goal so that I may one day not have to ask, why did I do that? I will know myself deeply enough that the outcomes will have already been thoroughly thought through so there will be no room for regret only sheer confidence.
Spiritual Goal
As a born again Christian I am still on a journey to strengthening my relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ. Following His ways is a sure commitment to practicing loving kindness. Jesus loved everyone so much that He died for us! Paying for the sins of humanity is a pretty tough act to follow but walking in His footsteps is the spiritual goal in itself. I know that He paid for the sins of the world and has many lessons for me to learn. My commitment to Him is strong but still needs to develop into a natural way of life rather than repayment of His gifts. I feel that my spirituality has a cornerstone and inner development can be fortified through The Word. As a future wellness professional, I pray that I can show others that suffer unnecessarily that there are answers if we just let go of worldly ways. My spiritual goal is to give loving kindness during the whole process of practicing integral health. I pray that happiness beams from my soul and allows others to see what they are capable of.
  1. Practices for personal health:
e at least two examples of exercises or practices in each domain. Explain how you will implement each example.
Strategies that I will implement to foster growth in Physical domain start with stopping the excuses of no time. Managing my time so that the opportunity to be physically fit is a lifelong commitment is important to me. I experience bouts of extreme health only to regress and sometimes halt altogether. P90X is a program taught my world famous Tony Horton who reminds you to “do your best and forget the rest.” I have started the program a few times and love it. Now armed with integral health knowledge I think this time period will coincide perfectly with consciousness and healing techniques. Setting no limits but achieving a daily program will instill the notion that I am more capable with every day that passes. Furthering my physical health with a nutritional plan that I feel my future clientele will benefit from as well; I believe I have to preach what I teach and be a product of my own journey and not just my chosen profession.
Psychological implementation strategies may be the hardest but will be achieved with contemplative practice. Becoming more aware of my healing capabilities with mental training will help to foster calmness. Reducing my focus on what ails me by elaborating on what I often contemplate but have not quite put into action. The budding of mental transformation through contemplative practice will help promote overall well-being. (Dacher)I have learned that loving kindness practice will take focus off of my own self indulged world while realizing that life is what we make it and I can make it better. Also, practicing subtle mind techniques by realizing the wisdom within and taming my mind chatter through imagery will help to flourish my calm abiding mind. I hope to achieve a stronger sense of oneness through my spiritual development practices. A higher consciousness can further my healing process and I will be able to help others only after I have helped myself. Spirituality can be attained by daily rituals such as reading the Bible and following the Word. Exercising awareness for humankind by developing loving kindness and relationships that flourish are all goals of mine.
  1. Commitment:
How will you assess your progress or lack of progress in the next six months? What strategies can you use to assist in maintaining your long-term practices for health and wellness?
Assessing my progress will be marked by improvement in all domains. I have made the conscious effort t to become whole and happy by leading an integrally approached life through loving kindness. Shifting the focus from all of my “unnecessary suffering” and creating whole body happiness is a mandatory event that needs to take place in my life. Assessing my progress will come from productivity and the marked improvements of mind, body, and soul healing. While practicing and reaching my goals assessment will be shown by improvement. In my personal life this will mean supporting my daughter and I independently, improving my ability to train my mind to focus and get more accomplished, maintaining a health regimen that I will improve through my journey and possible starting my own business. At this point lack of progress is not an option. I have spent far too much time dreaming of what I am capable of and I am so ready to get my happy, calm abiding life started.
